ABOUT ME

Graham Headshots-41.jpg

We've all got a thing.

My thing? Documenting  e v e r y t h i n g.  I'm a big note taker, a major list maker and generally set a reminder for 98% of my daily activities. Sometimes I just simply have a lot on my mind, and taking a photo freezes time for me. I think in pictures more often than words, and can most easily tell you a story through drawing out the connections of ideas. I love to remember what it feels like to be in the past. In other words, I'm nostalgic! I want to remember every little thing down to the smell of an experience. Am I the only one who loves the sweet fragrance of my babies' heads? Didn't think so!

So, when it comes to photography, I want to capture all the little details, and, of course, the big picture, of what it was once like. The emotions that we experience in those tiny moments through the journey of our lives can be kept alive through a simple visual, that slice of time. I hope to capture that in every story I'm telling through my photos.

Indeed, being outdoors is my true happy place.  I prefer running outside vs. on a treadmill. I grew up with a Michigan-born Dad who always encouraged us to enjoy the beautiful weather here in Southern California. It's no coincidence that I love shooting in natural light, and using the magic of sun and brightly-lit windows to highlight my subjects.

I've always had a camera in my hands. When I received my first digital camera for Christmas at 10 years old, my dog was usually my subject, then it turned towards family and friends. When I got to college at Michigan, I produced and filmed television, focusing on news and sports.  That led me home to Southern California where I continued working in sports television, producing Major League Soccer broadcasts with FOX, filming and producing for UCSB Athletics and ABC television.  Connections carried me to film around the world for the U.S. Women's Soccer Team and the U.S. Paralympic Soccer Team for nearly four years.

Nowadays, I've slowed down, still holding tightly to my camera. My biggest job these days is being a mother, a role I cherish every minute. I reside in Los Angeles' South Bay, raising two beautiful souls (and our "first born", Joey, the dog) with my studly husband, Andy.

I look forward to meeting you, and I hope to preserve your own magical slices of time.
